An Event Brand

Not a Boring Tech Conference

Metaswitch Networks, Polycom and Edgewater Networks joined together to create a more personal conference experience for their customers by holding smaller events in multiple cities. Because this event was being held in multiple venues, they needed a design that communicated the theme and stood on its own to have a consistent branded experience no matter where the event takes place.
Most tech conferences are pretty dry and dull, especially when talking about VoIP and IoT. Our goal was to create something that created some appeal and excitement and showed the partnership of the three main sponsors while having a bold, friendly, and recognizable look that supports the theme of "getting in touch."

An Event to Remember

Since the events were in two cities and six different venues, we had to plan accordingly and carry the brand through each space we occupied. We got to work experimenting with different logos and type combinations till we landed one we all could see having the potential to adapt and be recognizable. We worked very closely with the leadership of Metaswitch and their event production team to make sure everything was produced and designed to all the variable specifications of screens, banners, presentations, nametags, merchandise, and custom branded accents.
Despite all the loose ends and the fast pace of providing deliverables, the InTouch events sparked lots of interest from attendees with the bold application of the branding and all the creative ways we embedded it. In contrast to other events held in the past by Metaswitch, InTouch was one that pushed the creative envelope for them and set a higher bar for design in future events.

Summary

Metaswitch Networks, Polycom, and Edgewater Networks joined to host a series of conferences designed to bring their customers closer. The plan for this conference model is to be held multiple times a year in intimate settings, in different parts of the world, bringing the conference to their customers and encouraging networking with one another.

How We Helped

Metaswitch (the leading sponsor of the event) came to DesignGum to brand the event and create the entire identity system. The goal was to create a brand that showed the partnership of the three main sponsors while having a bold, friendly, and recognizable look that supports the theme of “getting in touch."

Collateral Development

DesignGum partnered with Tangelo Marketing and SweetPea Event Planning to cover all design and marketing needs. We also created several mockups to test and make sure our ideas would make sense in real-life situations and get client approval before sending them to production.
